software / hardware / fake RAID ?

Hello,

I am going to setup a new entry level server for my organisation. It would be HP ML110 G5. We shall go for Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server OS. The server would have 2 x 1 TB SATA Hard drives, and we need RAID setup.

The server has 'HP Smart Array E200/128 BBWC Controller' embedded. I couldn't find to check if it is FakeRaid Controller or true hardware RAID controller. If somebody has any idea, please post here.

Moreover, while searching for setting up raid on ubuntu systems, I found howto's mostly applicable to desktop OS and not for server OS. Kindly guide me which howto would be preferable to follow to setup raid. Also, please guide which raid (raid0 or raid1) as well as hardware raid or software raid would be more preferable.
