Default perfect-server-centos-5.3-x86_64-ispconfig-3

in the above note, i entered my own password, and continued on.

Now I have another dilemma... it is described quite well in an old thread, and I have to say the link still doesn't work. It tries to connect twice, but it always fails. (see: http://www.how2forge.org/forums/show...t=37151&page=2 )

I type in :

wget http://mydns.bboy.net/download/mydns...1.0-1.i386.rpm

I get a failed connection. anywhere else I can get this file?

I don't know where to get the "mydns-mysql-1.1.0-1.i386.rpm" file. I've looked everywhere for another link, but can't find one. Anyone have any ideas?

Hey, nice to see you back. You've been very helpful so far.

We all know now, that the instructions for Centos 5.4 and Centos 5.3 ( ISPConfig3) below fail:

Quote:
18 Install MyDNS
There's no MyDNS rpm package for the x86_64 architecture, and building MyDNS from the sources on CentOS 5.3 x86_64 fails because of some incompatibilities with the mysql-devel package. Therefore we install the MyDNS rpm package for i386 which works on x86_64 as well:

Quote:
wget http://mydns.bboy.net/download/ mydns-mysql-1.1.0-1.i386.rpm
rpm -ivh mydns-mysql-1.1.0-1.i386.rpm

MyDNS:
I would ask you to look at this link, because it actually addresses my issue. I would like to get some feedback on the link when you have a little time. http://www.how2forge.org/forums/showthread.php?t=37151

There is a link to the latest version here: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pro....2.8.27.tar.gz

For anyone else reading this thread... http://mydns-ng.com/mantis/view_all_bug_page.php is very informative about the latest version of MyDNS... (unstable) 1.2.8.28 is not available, the one they are working on right now.

PowerDNS:

If I installed PowerDNS without knowing how to configure, I think I'd be worse off . What is PowerDNS vs MyDNS?

There is a howto at http://www.howtoforge.com/installing...-on-centos-5.2 , but I don't see one for CentOS 5.3.

Thumbs down perfect-server-centos-5.3-x86_64-ispconfig-3

I tried this configuration tutorial, and it completely failed, no matter what solutions I came up with to resolve dead links, etc. This absolutely did not work. I spent about a month and a half trying to make it happen, with even the best advice available. On boot, the system crashes.
