Default Can a jailed ssh user change his password?

I'd like my jailed ssh users to be able to set their own passwords. Is there any way to do it from the jailed shell, or does the fact that the user is chrooted to jail (and /etc/shadow is not in the jail) make this impossible?

The password for the shell users has to be changed in ISPConfig and not on the shell. If a jailed user changes his password on the shell, it will have no effect as the password will only be changed in its local copy of the /etc/shadow filr and not in the system /etc/shadow file.

Get ISPConfig support and the ISPConfig 3 manual from ispconfig.org.
