I just solved this same problem on my Fedora 11 system. When yum updated my maildrop package, the update was not compiled with authlib enabled. I first ran `yum erase maildrop`, then I simply had to download the source (http://www.courier-mta.org/download.php#maildrop) and recompile it following the installation instructions.
Your `maildrop -v` should look something like this:
Code:
# maildrop -v
maildrop 2.4.2 Copyright 1998-2005 Double Precision, Inc.
GDBM/DB extensions enabled.
Courier Authentication Library extension enabled.
Maildir quota extension are now always enabled.

Hope that helps.
