Which firewall has better features. Software or Hardware?

I believe that a software firewall is a great addition to an already existent hardware firewall in a router.A software firewall will allow you to easily monitor any outgoing connections.Programs trying to connect to the Internet will be shown to you by a software firewall and you can either allow or deny access to the Internet.You will also be able to shut down any malware that may be on your system and trying to call home quite easily with a software firewall.A hardware firewall is great for incoming connections, but a software firewall is a necessity for outgoing connections and allows you to have full control of your system.
