Default wireless on ubuntu has suddenly stoppped working

Both my wireless and wired connections have suddenly stopped working on Ubuntu. it does not even detect any wireless network. Can somebody please help

Any errors in your logs? What are the outputs of
Code:
ifconfig
and
Code:
route -nee
?

just as a thought: I prefer WICD as network manager than the default one on *buntu. You might want to give that a try.
