Default why create so many ssl certificates?

When installing on Debian 5.0, a ssl certificate is created for imap, pop, ftp and http.

If these certificates have the same details (i.e. CN), could we just create one certificate and put it in /etc/ssl/ - then point courier, pureftp and apache to that certificate?

This is particularly important if we are using a 3rd party signed certificate such as from godaddy.

Many thanks,

Chris

Default

By default, every service has its own ssl certificates in most Linux distributions. If you want to use the same cert, you will have to change the configuration files of the services like courier, postfix etc.
