Default Active load-balancing two Debian servers, but NOT for web

I'm wondering if someone can help point me in the right direction. I want to set up to Debian servers with active load-balancing (active/active not just active/passive), but they won't be serving a web page (at least, not alone): there will also be game servers and a bittorrent tracker. All the How-Tos I see are for Apache servers or MySQL, and the utilities (HAProxy) are just for HTTP traffic. Is there a utility and guide to how to set up this kind of balancing?
