Default Server State Email Notifications

Does anyone have anything like this in place? I was going to start working on developing it out, but wanted to make sure someone didn't already have it done.

The idea is as follows:

When the server state is anything other than OK, an email is generated to the admin user stating any warnings or errors currently present in the system.
