Default Newb: installing a site in /var/www

Hi,

When I did the 'perfect server' setup on my Ubuntu 8.04 LTS box I named the server "sierra.myperfectserver.com. (Just an example)

www.myperfectserver.com is actually a domain I want to serve a site from eventually.

When the time comes, how *do* I serve a site from www.myperfectserver.com?

Do I just create a new site in ISPc?

Do I just install the site in /var/www? if so, how do I do *that*?
What are the ftp details I should use?
The server isn't exposed to the internet yet, it's on 192.168.0.55

Thanks :-)

Slowhand
