Cool SQL Error Cannot Connect

Hello all,
I have just finished installing ISPConfig 2 on my Ubuntu 8.10 server setup following the "perfect server" guide -> http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-ubuntu-8.10-p7

The setup of ISPConfig 2 seemed to go well all up untill the end. When i tried to login to the admin page, and the default password admin:admin seemed to be incorrect.

Looking at my shell it seems this must be a sql access problem...
No idea how to get it to connect, i cant even seem to connect using SQLyog... saying access denied.

Ive attached a few screenshots.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

EDIT:
Since posting i have found this aparent fix...
http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_se...pensuse10.3_p4 - ( the 8 MYSQL part )
but even after completing the steps. i still get the same error. shown in screenshot 3
