is the only way to apply updates to ssh in and apply updates with apt, or is there a way to do this in the gui?> might be nice to have a button to apply all updates or soemthing.

Till, looks like gjcomputer is talking about when ISPC3 lists debian updates in the system status as a warning.

gjcomputer, are you asking for a feature request that enables you to install Debian updates when ISPC3 detects that there are updates available? I'm not sure this is possible because sometimes apt prompts you for your input.

as i wrote the "new" monitor-plugin i had this in mind (installing the needed updates per mouse-click). I also thought about installing the needed packages per mouse-cklick. For example

"you need to install rkhunter at this server to monitor the log of it. Click "here" to install it".

To add such a feature was not the problem why i didn't implement it. The problem was, that there could occur some problems / error where we need the decision of a admin. for example, a (too) old version is installed and we need a update or some updates / installations ask some questions we can't answer with "yes" or "no" (for example there is a new config-file and we need to patch the old one).

so i thought it is better, doing such things "by hand" but to know what happends - than such things are done automatically (and sometimes wrong).

so my decision was NOT to implement it...

good call, now that i know i agree with that. i would much rather have to update manually, than to have it do it for me and something error out. thanks!

Did you know that Webmin has this kind of function?
I wonder if we could implement this in a similar fashion.
Looking at that code might give us some ideas about how to start...

yes i know and i tried / used this function some times, but again, i thought it was better to interact and to know what happens that to let the computer update itself and not to know what happends...

I had the same warning and did an apt-get upgrade
the upgrade worked fine but the warning remains (about an hour has passed)

yes, this is a feature, not a bug

because this monitoring is "expensive" i do it only one a hour.

Please have a look at it after two hours, then the warning is gone. if not, please post again!
