Default Question about running a web server from home?

If it possible to run a store from home without having you own ip address? I find it very expensive to pay about $80.00 more on top of my isp a month. Also I do want to be PCI compliant. I will be installing oscommerce like shipping cart and will only be using email, phplist, phpmyadmin, ssl i guess that is it but hopefully you get the idea. I would like to hear everyones opinion on web server from home. I will start using ubuntu Server 8.04 lts. Thanks

You can run your server from home by using a domain from e.g. dyndns.org. But you should be aware that you will not able to use this server as mail server without a fixed IP address.

The better way is to rent a server or vserver in a datacenter. Vservers are not that expensive.

Get ISPConfig support and the ISPConfig 3 manual from ispconfig.org.
