This is ok.

I found this: http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=35848 which suggests you have installed a wrong MySQL version. But post #6 on this page also seems to be interesting:

Did you install these packages?
Code:
yum install mysql mysql-devel mysql-server
Did you have a look at the second link I posted?

Are you sure you followed the perfect setup for FC4 ( http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_fedora_core_4 ) as close as possible?

Thanks for your help but I give up,
I had no problems installing it on my local machine, everything went fine,
but then on VPS I don't have control over installation, that's why I have all those problems,

anyway thanks!

Maybe I have the same problem, but zlib etc is installed:

The problem might be with my kernel, but unfortunately I cannot recompile the kernel, because it's a vserver.

Output of
Code:
uname -a
Code:
Linux 2.6.8-022stab070.1-enterprise #1 SMP Mon Feb 20 18:19:00 MSK 2006 i686 GNU/Linux
Is there another solution to this maybe?

Your problem is that you do not have enough RAM and / or SWAP memory to compile PHP:

Thanks, but I solved the problem already. Turned off a program that was running. So, I think you are right. But thanks anyway.

Hi folks,

I know this thread was just about dead but I do have to revive it. I have been following the perfect install guide for ISPConfig on FC4, everything went well as far as I know. I go to do the ISPConfig install and like alot of others here i have come to this error:

ERROR: The PHP binary coming with ISPConfig does not work properly on your system! The installation routine stops here!

I have followed all the solutions that you all have provided however I still get the same error.

Does anyone else have any other thoughts?

It's a true dedicated server (not VPS), is a i686 with a fresh minimal install of FC4, I have installed all the packages that is required (I think) yet continue to get this error. This would be about the 4th hour on this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

FFH.

You do not have a gcc compiller installed on your server:

Quote:
make[1]: gcc: Command not found
Make sure you installed the basic comile tools like gcc, g++, bison and make.
