Default receiving SMS with Vodafone Connect Application

I have a problem with receiving SMS on my Linux Ubuntu 8.04.1 notebook.

I can receive SMS only when they are sent to me while the application is running, if I send an SMS to my SIM while the computer is off I never receive it.

I don't have the same problem using the GlobalConnect application under Vista, in that case when I start the application I get all the SMS that were sent while the notebook was off.

This is quite boring as my ISP (Vodafone) sends SMS to tell me when I'm running out of credit.

At the moment I have to boot in Windows every now and then only to read SMS.

Any suggestion?

Ciao,
Max
