Hi,
I've than before but it didn't help and I noticed after a while the permission is changed to 600 but I don't know what is changing the permission, I guess is quota that is doing that to limit the writing to the file but the qouta is showing nothing.

Does this happen regularly? If so, does it happen at the same time each day? Maybe a cron job?
Maybe you should also check your server with chkrootkit and rkhunter.

I have a similar problem
hello
I think it correspond with this thread... all my mailboxes whose size is bigger than 50MB has this problem.
Code:
can't
create user output file. Command output: procmail: Extraneous locallockfile
ignored procmail: Error while writing to "/var/mail/web4_admin"
output of ls -la /var/mail/web4*
Code:
-rw------- 1 web4_admin mail 51074831 Sep 8 11:07 /var/mail/web4_admin
-rw------- 1 web4_dron mail 67702 Aug 22 15:27 /var/mail/web4_user
space limit for this web is 2MB, for this mail account is -1. Other mail account is not affected with this issue.
quota is not exceeded.
output of repquota -avug
Code:
Group used soft hard grace used soft hard grace
----------------------------------------------------------------------
web4 -- 112536 2048000 2049024 3092 0 0
I find this issue on about 5 accounts. When I delete some mails I can accept mails but allways only up to 50MB limit of mailbox size.
Now I use ISPConfig 2.2.24
Has anyone same problem? Can you help me? Thanx!

What's the output of
Code:
postconf -d | grep mailbox_size_limit
?
You can try to set an unlimited mailbox size with
Code:
postconf -e 'mailbox_size_limit = 0'
Restart Postfix afterwards.

wow, it is funny. I can't change my mailbox_size_limit. no change is made when I set it to 0 or 51200001 or 51100000. After postfix restart there is allways output of
Code:
mailbox_size_limit = 51200000
.
Am I stupid or what?
I use postfix-2.3.3-2.1.el5_2
