Default FTP in LAN is very slow

Hello to everybody.

One time ago i had an server (homeserver but con internet domains, dns, email, etc) based in a XP (i know is sin but my knoless dont gaves for more) but the send files by ftp between server and clients it was quick. I add the hostname in the hosts file and all was fine.

Now i have a ubuntu server with ispconfig thants to falko and company and i very happy with it but the ftp in LAN is very slow althougt i added the the server hostname in hosts file too.

Well, thats all my history . What could i do for fix this?
