IPSec between RHEL4 server and windows xp client

I have a RHEL4 server and want to connect my laptop which is running windows xp to it via IPSec. How would I go about doing that?

Is your RHEL4 Server a router or gateway or why do you want to use IPSec? IPSec is not trivial to setup and it makes only sense for connecting networks over the internet or in a road warrior setup when you need secure access to a company network.

the Server is my main file server. I want an encrypted way to interact between client and server so if someone were to hack into my network all they would see is encrypted data. IPSec itself is not trivial however the interaction via IPSec between the 2 OS's is where I am stumped. Any Suggestions?
