Default Making Linux/Writing Drivers

A friend of mine has said that he is going to give me a Dell Server because he was unable to get LINUX to work on it because of the SCSI card. So what I would like to know is how can I take the windows drivers and make them so LINUX can use them specifically, CentOS 5.1.

I think I'd try Ubuntu in this case. It has the best hardware support.
