The configuration is split up in multiple files that reside in the /etc/pure-ftpd/conf directory.

As first problem goes:
As Till said it is split in many files in /etc/conf/pure-ftpd

Reslut of -ls - /etc/conf/pure-ftpd for newbies such as me
Code:
total 52
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 36 gru 14 2011 AltLog
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4 lip 14 00:02 BrokenClientsCompatibility
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4 lip 14 00:02 ChrootEveryone
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4 lip 14 00:02 DisplayDotFiles
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4 lip 14 00:02 DontResolve
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6 gru 14 2011 FSCharset
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5 gru 14 2011 MinUID
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 29 gru 14 2011 MySQLConfigFile
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4 gru 14 2011 NoAnonymous
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4 gru 14 2011 PAMAuthentication
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 28 gru 14 2011 PureDB
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2 lip 13 23:50 TLS
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3 gru 14 2011 UnixAuthentication

Do you use Apache or nginx? And which PHP mode (mod_php, FastCGI, PHP-FPM, ...)?
