im looking for a manual to build a reverse proxy server from linux to serve the microsoft exchange server that im using

have you checked squid's webpage ?

however if just need a simple reverse proxy like external (public) server to serve content from an internal (firewalled exchange server) you can just use apache's mod_proxy , check out the documentation on the apache website or here with some examples http://www.apachetutor.org/admin/reverseproxies
