If you need to quickly find your IP Address and Reverse DNS, just goto:

IP address may also be assigned to a Host name, which is sometimes easier to remember.It is easy to find your IP address quickly, You can easily search on internet about your IP address.This link is really nice,from this we can easily and quickly search our IP address.

Default how to know your ip address?

You can visit aafter.com to know the IP address of your computer. Just type ip? on the search box and get your IP along with geo location just in seconds.

This is how i do it on my Mac. Open the terminal:

nano -w .profile

and than paste following:

alias myip='curl -s http://www.whatismyip.com/automation/n09230945.asp | grep -o '[0-9][0-9]*.[0-9][0-9]*.[0-9][0-9]*.[0-9]*''
Save and quit the file. Afte that just type myip and you will get you external IP.

when is it that you need to know your IP address. For me it is usually to perform an FTP unlock for my IP only.
