Default Installing PEAR PHP - Are there any security issues installing Pear?

Hey all,

Just want to do a quick check to see if it is ok to install Pear PHP on a shared hosting server? I prefer not to for security reasons (who know what exploits may exists) but is it a general practice to do so?

Any precautions etc? I assume it won't affect ISPCOnfig at all since it has its own version of php installed.

thanks

It's np to install them, it's just a set of php classes/objects you can use in your code ..
i don't see any security issues here.

if someone else does know some, post them
