Virtual Hosting With Proftpd And MySQL (Incl. Quota)

Hi

I am trying to follow Falko's tutorial - Virtual Hosting With Proftpd And MySQL (Incl. Quota) On Ubuntu 8.04 LTS - but on Ubuntu 8.10.

I'm not sure if it will work on Ubuntu 8.10

I am getting the following error when trying to install proftpd-mysql...

Package proftpd-mysql is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package proftpd-mysql has no installation candidate

Can anyone help?

I think the package is named proftpd-mod-mysql on 8.10.

Hi,

I am also having problems with this in 8,10. I have installed proftpd-mod-mysql, but not get this error:

- Fatal: unknown configuration directive 'MYSQL' on line 36 of '/etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf

Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix it??

Make sure you enable mod_sql.c, mod_sql_mysql.c, and mod_quotatab_sql.c in /etc/proftpd/modules.conf.
