Default Fresh Install on Debian

Hi all , I have decided to do a fresh install on my server running Debian 3.1 with the kernel image 2.6.8-2-386. However I have run into some issues as can be seen from the output below.

tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
./setup2: line 771: ispconfig_tmp/php/bin/php: No such file or directory
ERROR: The PHP binary coming with ISPConfig does not work properly on your system! The installation routine stops here!

I have followed the perfect install instructions to the word yet still getting the same issues, anyone got any ideas.

Kind Regards

Chris K

Did you try to install ISPConfig more than once?
Run
Code:
rm -fr /root/ispconfig
rm -fr /home/admispconfig
also delete the install_ispconfig directory. Then unpack the ISPConfig tar.gz again and run the setup again.

Wow talk about coincidence, I too have exactly this problem and my name is also Chris K, I guess ISPConfig doesn't get along well with us :P

Anyway, I'm compiling this for ARM. I have no idea if this problem is related to that? I would have assumed that because it's compiling Apache/PHP and not using a binary it would be OK but I guess it could be the case the scripts don't detect ARM?

This thing took around 5 hours to compile, is there no way of running this from my exisiting LAMP setup? I'd prefer that over running two servers.

If not is there any software similar to ISPConfig? I'd really like to use ISPConfig, it looks great but going through the painfull 5 hour process to recieve another fail message isn't something I want to do :S

There are other ISP controlpanels, but i dont think you will find any that provide ARM binarys. ISPConfig is one of the most portable with the most supported linux distributions and architectures.

The next ISPConfig release will replace the last few binarys that we deliver with versions compiled during installation to be even more portable.

I have only tried the install twice and both times i removed the install_ispconfig directory as required, there was however no /home/admispconfig directory at all. Again the error that I am getting is.

tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
./setup2: line 771: ispconfig_tmp/php/bin/php: No such file or directory
ERROR: The PHP binary coming with ISPConfig does not work properly on your system! The installation routine stops here!
mamba:/var/www/install_ispconfig#

Thanks for the info Till, does that mean ISPconfig is likely to work with ARM for the next release?

Are you sure you didnt got any errors before the tar error? If you are ot sure, you can have a look ath the ispconfig_install.log in /var/log/

Is your system time and date set correctly? Tar is a bit picky with the system time.
