Ubuntu 7 Perfect Install - Postfix With SMTP-AUTH And TLS Problem

I have gotten all the way to step 13 and installed the above components and run through the configuration.

I am getting this error at: telnet localhost 25

here's my output:
Trying 127.0.0.2
Connected to localhost

Connection closed by foreign host.

doing some more testing, connecting remotely to my lamp server I am successful via ssh, unsuccessful via telnet. Port scanning the computer i see the following the ports available 22 (ssh), 25 (smtp), 53 (domain)

nevermind guys, I am a dork. I went back and slowly walked through all the steps and made sure i didn't have any typos. Lo and behold; in /etc/postfix/main.cf I had this:

stmpd_tls_received_header = yes

should have been

smtpd_tls_received_header = yes
