This is my 1st experiment building a virtual machine. I'm following this guide;
How to create a virtual machine with VMware on Linux:
http://searchservervirtualization.te...245061,00.html
It runs Window 2003 server as an example.
Now I have "VMware Server Console" running.
$ /usr/bin/vmware-server-console
starts the "VMware Server Console" window ready for installing guest OS.
Also I have "CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64.zip" download and extracted on
Code:
/home/satimis/CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64/
CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64-s001.vmdk
CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64-s002.vmdk
CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64-s003.vmdk
CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64-s004.vmdk
CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64-s005.vmdk
CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64.vmdk
CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64.vmsd
CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64.vmx
nvram
readme
I have no idea how to proceed. Neither their "readme" file provides instruction. Is /home/satimis/CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64/ an ideal path for its installation.
OR
I have to move it to;
/usr/local/src/CentOS-5_lamp.x86_64/
???
Advice would be appreciated. TIA
B.R.
