Yes I know that but I'm not sure after that and changing configuration.
Should I run:

make-kpkg clean
fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd --revision=custom.1.0 kernel_image

dpkg -i kernel-image-2.6.11.7_custom.1.x_i386.deb

or somethin else?
