I have done some research today and before reading the link you gaved me i have fond the following.
When the server "dies" i have werry werry much httpd instances starded.
I thing that could be from an httpd flood (port 80 flood)
For that i am thinking to some iptables limit lines and a cron script to check how many httpd instances are stared and if they are more that X number to restart httpd.
Do you think this is ok? I mean, i don't see why this would not work, but i want a second opinion.
