I still stand by my original question... you say you are new to Linux/Ubuntu yet you want to just go ahead and operate like on windows - which is go to a website, download software, install it...
IMHO you should first get a bit confortable on how to use linux and especially also package management within ubuntu - this even more if there are not any features really needed from a version not in the according package manager.
