The easiest way to follow the tutorial is to install PuTTY (
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/ ) on your Windows system and then login to your FC4 system. You can then simply copy and paste the commands from the tutorial to your PuTTY command line.
This also helps avoiding typos.
