Upgrade from 8.04 to 10.04

As I understand 12.04 will break ISP Config 2 and since this is a production server - I don't want to break the server as a whole.

I've also read that there are some problems upgrading to 10.04....

sort of hangs

For some reason my server - setup using perfect server for ISPConfig 2 - just hangs. cannot access it with ssh, webserver is not accessable, and mail hangs.
I can see that the server is "running"...
