okay I have a Sony AR-390E and whenever I use quiet splash and 15% of the time without quiet. I have combed the Ubuntu forums to no avail. Just about ready to go back to 7.10. Can anyone help me...

here's one for ya. using root access, tar cvpzf backup.tgz --exclude=/proc --exclude=/lost+found --exclude=/backup.tgz --exclude=/mnt --exclude=/sys /
To restore use: tar xvpfz backup.tgz -C /
