php safe mode not working..

I tried putting one of my websites in php safe mode today, but when I do so nothing comes up when trying to load that site.

When switching back from php safe mode everything works fine again..

Hi, I'm currently using Courier POP3 and IMAP server, but what I can't understand is that when i 'delete' a message in my mail-client it gets marked for deletion but it never seems to be deleted......
