PHP problem

I am running 2.2.3 on FC 5, when i try to install phpnuke forums I get "FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it!" in the tutorial it said not to enable globals since...

i have register globals set to On in php.ini, yet info.php says its off, and no php will work, any ideas?

LVM partition

i made a partition as an lvm, but now i need to format it to jfs and use it, i am using Fed c4, i did it as an lvm in case i need to add more drive space for storage, but for now, how do i use this...
