I see you're not using a relay. Make sure you have a reverse DNS (PTR) record and an SPF record in place for the mail server. I had this same problem, but I could flush the mail queue every so often...

Yeah it's pretty annoying for future Googlers with the same issue haha...

Without knowing any details, my suggestion would be to check resolv.conf and dig the DNS server for the relevant records.

Can you post the relevant lines of the log files, the urls, etc.?

Initial thoughts:

Relative vs. absolute path issue
www vs non-www
CMS-specific permissions

I may have some other thoughts...

Also the contents of your /etc/resolv.conf would be helpful. Can you ping outside domains from the server CLI?

Thrashing issues with mpm-itk

I'm using a 2 VPSes (1 apache, 1 mysql) to run ~30 php/mysql sites. It's a shared-user environment, so I went with mpm-itk. My problem now is that apache seems to be ignoring my ServerLimit...

Thanks so much for pointing me to the syslog file. I had to fix the dot, some permissions in /etc/bind/ and also use absolute paths to the .db and .rev files. Thank-you thank-you thank-you!
