its most likely something wierd in the config, dunno what tho. kinda thought ISPConfig setss up PTR record correct when you add our DNS stuff

doubt port 53 is blocked since its not behind a FW atm, and the server should respond since it responds to dns queries. also responds to PTR queries

When i try to send an email via our server to a customers email hes server replies with
553 You have a reverse DNS problem!
ANd dont accept any mail.

I did n ot change it in the ISPConfig...

I did n ot change it in the ISPConfig webinterface becouse it IS and have ALWAYS been set to EXTERNAL
Further more there is NO, none, zero ,zip, nada subdomains

did a dirty fix, i went into the database table "isp_isp_domain" and changed the field domain_local_mailserver to null, it hade 1 in it, should be summing else then 1 one might think when u save the...

I have the same problem

For the sites that i have selected external mailserver they STILL show up in my local-host-names file.
I have not changed any of ISPConfigs files

Any ideas ?

hosteing a website but not SMTP

Hope this is the right forum for this type of question.

lets say i want to host the site www.mysite.com, i create it in ISPConfig and click in make DNS and MX since i want to be DNS...
