Problems with SVN using Jailbreak

Hi,

I have some problems using SVN.
When logged in onto the server using SSH, the user can't checkout anything.

When checking out:

$USER@website.net:/web$ svn co http://mysite/svn/trunk ....

I just thought because they are per client, and the client has several websites the login should be able to administer several sites.

Don't ask me why, but I've manished to manually change the chown rights on /var/www/..

The /var/www/ is still under root:root, but so are even the underlying directories. I am searching for...
