I don't think you read the whole post. It doesn't work on apache realms because the auth module is run BEFORE mod_rewrite.

This is easy to fix. The file you need to edit is:
/root/ispconfig/scripts/lib/config.lib.php

Inside this file, search for this line (it was line 1910 on my version of ISPConfig):
