ISPConfig 3.0.1.4 causes Apache to have too many open files

We have encountered a very weird error after installing ISPConfig 3.0.1.4.
Basically it causes Apache/mod_php to create thousands of open files (actually FIFO pipes), and they are staying open...

Just out of curiosity, in your original post you mention pure-ftpd, but later paste in a response screen from proftpd. I'm not suggesting anything, but this sure seems strange...

Well, I let it run for 2 days but nothing happened. The cron job is there, the script runs according to syslog, but it just doesn't compress the day old file and doesn't delete the month old one....
