What I want to do is forward www.domain1.com to www.domain1.co.uk, what is the best way and can you step-by-step the answer.

No, the best way is:

Add a new co-domain www.domain1.co.uk to the website www.domain.co.uk and enter nothing in the forward or apache directives field.
