Mysql backup doesn't work on 3.0.5.1 debian Squeeze/Sid

Mysql database backup for customers doesn't work on Debian Squeeze/Sid
in the cron log i get mysqldump: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) when trying to connect

in /usr/local/ispconfig/server/lib/mysql_clientdb.conf
the data is correct.

are there any special characters you may not have in mysql password?
if i do
-> mysql -h localhost -u root -p (enter)
-> enter password: (enter the password here)

all works

--> mysql -h localhost -u root -p(password)
i get the following error: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

any suggestions?

The mysql root password in that file may not contain any characters that can get interpretde by a shell script. So use only a-z, A-Z 0-9 and _ in the password.
