Is Apache really much more memory hungry?
Hello.
I have set up 2 vps servers. Both is installed from the guides here at howtoforge.com http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-se...nx-ispconfig-3 nginx http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-se...ot-ispconfig-3 apache2 When i now looked at memory the vps with nginx are using much more memory then the vps with apache2. http://www.dipcenter.se/image/data/ram-server.jpg Is nginx using more in idle but dosnt take more when it works, and are apache using nothing when its idle and uses much when it worked? I cant see why i should have nginx for a low cost vps. Am i wrong? |
Do both servers have the same workload? The same amount of websites, etc.? Do you run the same services (like MySQL, etc.) on both - with the exact same configuration?
From my experience I can say that nginx uses less resources (by far) than Apache. |
Everything is exactly the same installed.
I followed the guides i wrote in the first post. |
Please post the top outputs. How did you configure PHP-FPM? Do you use the ondemand process manager?

Hello.
I have now already closed the vps with nginx. Maybe its best for me to use apache2. I dont have the skills to configure so good. |
