Multi VPS Server Setup FTP Login Problems

Debian Squeeze, Apache, ISPConfig 3.0.4.6

I followed the guide here: http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual-mu...th-ispconfig-3 except that I said yes to install the firewall in the ISPConfig install.

I created a FTP user in the control panel and am attempting to connect with FileZilla, but I keep getting this error in FileZilla

Any ideas why the connection gets timed out?

The reason is that the passive ports that the ftp server uses are not open in the firewall. Normally you dont need a firewall on your server as it runs only the services that are required to be open when you followed the perfect setup guide,so the firewall does not anny security here. You can either shutdown the firewall or you will have to open the ports used for the passive ftp connections in the firewall.
