Can I mix different operating systems in Master/Slave configurations?

Can I mix different operating systems in Master/Slave configurations? I understand that I can have one slave be Apache, another Nginx. But can I have my Master running Ubuntu, with a Slave running CentOS?

Currently I have all slaves running Ubuntu and I wanted to add another CentOS box -or is this not recommended?

ISPConfig 3 Rocks! Thank you for creating this!!!

Yes, you can mix operating systems.

Personally I wont use Centos for ISPConfig, its not as stable as Debian or Ubuntu as Centos tends to break after a few weeks or months when you install Centos updates due to package conflicts caused by the different centos repositories. As Debian and Ubuntu have all packages in one main repository, these problems dont occur there.
