memcached error on perfect server debian squeeze , ispconfig 2

Hi there,

i have just completed a new perfect server setup on a debian squeeze and installed ispconfig 2 . The process was smooth apart from the part that the hostname was single text and not in the form of xxx.domain.sss .

In any case i am trying to install memcached by running apt-get install memcached. The package gets installed with errors ( i have to restart server after installation ) but it breaks apt-get so i have to remove it. The error that i get is :

Any ideas where's the problem ?

Thank you very much,

ispconfig2 was not made to run on squeeze with the new dependency based boot order.

you can ignore it and use the old one if you do this:

Code:

touch /etc/init.d/.legacy-bootordering
then try to reinstall memcached again

Hi Mark,

thanks for your reply.

Will this affect anything else ?

Regards.

No, you're just switching back to the legacy bootorder.

If you want to go back to the new one, delete the file /etc/init.d/.legacy-bootordering

Hi Mark,

worked fine. i deleted the file after installation though.

Much obliged.

Or see http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/sho...t=13737&page=2 and keep the new boot order.
