Email - Pop, Imap and SMTP configuration
Hi there,
I've followed the perfect server guide for Ubuntu 11.04 (Still perfect the guide) and it can be a silly question but, my mail are working without problem by creating through ISPConfig an email and then, using Roundcube to log in. Working out of the box ! Great. But now, I'm testing Feng Office (Webmail) and it asks me the IMAP or Pop and SMTP server. No idea what to do... Thanks for your help ! |
Is this webmail application installed on your server? If yes, then the pop, imap and smtp servr is "localhost".

Yeah indeed it is. If it wasn't? |
You will have to specify there the IP or fqdn of the mail server.
For example: pop.yourdomain.com, smtp.yourdomain.com, imap.yourdomain.com But, before this, you will have to create that records in a DNS (a server in charge of manage the relation "domain = ip", or just add that reference to /etc/resolv.conf I can see that you are relatively new to this world so... if you want to learn more, look in google for topics like: dns basics, dns record basics, network basics, tcp/ip basics, mailserver basics, postfix basics, routing, switch, linux directory structure, etc. This world appear to be complex, but is more easy than it appears to be :P |
