ISPConfig faiture
 

Hi

I am using Debian Sarge 3.1 and trying to install ISPconfig but I cannot as it fails.

How do I review the error logs to determine where my problems are?

The messages on the screen that I can see appears that php binary coming with the ISPconfig does not work properly on my system. The installation routine stops here!

But there are other errors but I cannot work out what they are.

Amy help will be appreciated.

Did you setup your Debian system according http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_debian_sarge ?

Yes I did. However, I did have a problem with saslauthd. I was getting an error

Starting SASL Authentication Daemon: (failed)

I have ignored that problem for the present.

Otherwise, everything I have done appears to be fine.

As you can see, I have made two attempts to install ISPConfig and it stops at the same place. Is this a hardware problem?

Can you post the real error messages from the installation process, not from the log?
From which directory do you try to install?

Some time ago i had a problem too with getting saslauthd.

The thread as described here was my solution to solve the problem:

Maybe it works for you too, you can give it a try.

The error message on installation is
ERROR: The PHP binary coming with ISPConfig does not work properly on your system! The installation routine stops here!
job-working-directory: could not get current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory

The file ISPConfig.tar.gz is in my root directory where I run the command
tar xvfz ISPCongfig*.tar.gz

I then enter the command
cd install_ispconfig

Then run
./setup

This is as per the ISPConfig setup instructions.

Please post the error message that is before the message in the compilation output.

Thankx for your reply, but I do not know how to capture the compilation output. Help here will be greatly appreciated.
