I have already shrinked /home by 2,1Go ,but i don't know if i can enlarge the / by this free space; I mean i don't know if those 2,1 Go are directly behind the / ?.Or the important is to have free space in the disk??

Sys de fichs Taille Uti Disp Uti% Monté sur
/dev/sda5 7,6G 7,3G 0 100% /
tmpfs 1003M 0 1003M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/sda6 2,8G 1,6G 1,1G 60% /home
/dev/sda5 35171 36177 Linux

I have the same situation,
i have a VM server that i need to increase the / partition.
Try GParted: http://www.howtoforge.com/partitioning_with_gparted
resize ext3 partitions
because the MiniTool Partition Wizard 5.2 partition can support Linux ext3 and do partitions well,so you can have a try.
