How to ban brute force attack throught ftp?
is there any way to detect & ban brute force attacks throught ftp service?

this here http://www.howtoforge.com/preventing...with_denyhosts works only for SSH... but maybe Falko knows how to alter that that it works for ftp also... or just any port...

If you prefer a Perl script instead of Python you could try out a Perl hack of mine called LogSentry. Monitors ssh and ftp logs. Pretty much the same funcionality as BlockHosts I guess but I was unaware of BlockHosts when I needed it.
